Financial Analysis of Pirelli

Accounting and Finance for Managers & AI tools:

This project work allowed me to truly understand the role of financial analysis as an important strategic tool when managing a business. Together with my teammates we delved deep into Pirelli financial statements, computed different KPIs and tried to tie the numbers to business decisions and event. Then we compared Pirelli’s performance with that of competitors and proceeded to further analysis.

Finally we ran again some parts of the computation and interpretation with AI tools with the goal of comparing results and judging the quality of AI output, which applications are correct and useful and which ones aren’t.

These observations suggest that effective financial analysis benefits from a hybrid approach. AI excels at rapid metric computation, structured frameworks, and comprehensive coverage, but human judgment remains essential for contextual interpretation, critical inquiry, and informed decision-making.
